Alton James “Buddy” Ross age 63, of Magnet Cove passed away at his home on March 30, 2010. He was born May 28, 1946 in Malvern, the son of James Alton and Lula Mabel (Conzel) Ross. Buddy was a 1964 graduate of Magnet Cove High School and had worked as a meat cutter for several stores. He loved working with cattle and had been a cattle farmer his entire adult life. He was of the Baptist faith.His parents; brother, James E. Ross; and mother-in-law, Maedean Hughbanks preceded him in death.Survivors are his wife of forty-one years, Reggia Dianne (Hughbanks) Ross; son, James Ross of Magnet Cove; daughter, DeAnn Williams and husband, Chris of Malvern; granddaughter, Whitney Williams of Malvern; brothers, Robert Ross and wife, Peggy, Charles Ross and wife, Charlene, all of Malvern, and Larry Ross and wife, Betty of Magnet Cove; sisters, Mary Nugent and husband, Wayne of Oak Grove, and Linda Lunsford and husband, Clint of Malvern; father-in-law, Lloyd Hughbanks of Mt. Ida; and numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation will be Thursday, April 1st from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern.Graveside services will be Friday, April 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Magnet Cove with Brothers Richard Phelps and Donis Smead officiating. Pallbearers will be Don Bowen, Ray Thurber, Joe Criglow, Sterling Dodson, Dean Teague, and Roy Sulton. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad and Craig Williams, James Kimzey, Dr. Edward Warren, Dr. Shawn Purifoy, and Dr. Melody St. John. The family will be at home of DeAnn and Chris Williams, 300 Pleasant View Drive, Malvern. Arrangements are by Regency Funeral Home.
