Obituary

Alan Doyle Cook, age 59, of Midway, passed from this life on March 18, 2025 at his home. He was born on October 31, 1965, in Malvern, AR, the son of the late Doyle and Anna Lea Cook. Alan was a 1984 graduate of Ouachita High School. He was an active member of Midway Missionary Baptist Church where he was a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and building fund treasurer. Alan grew up on the Cook Brothers Farm growing rice and soybeans, followed by years spent at Cook Brothers Sand and Gravel. He was then employed at the Hot Spring Co. Road Dept. for over 30 years, where he was a road foreman on the East Side. Alan was currently an alderman for the city of Midway and took pride in taking care of his community. He was also the president of Delisle Creek Hunting Club. Alan enjoyed deer hunting with dogs in Delisle hills with family and friends, turkey hunting, dirt track racing, time spent with family and friends, and watching Jack and Leighton play ball and shoot trap.

Alan is preceded in death by his parents and father and mother in-law, John and Linda Frazier.

Left to cherish his memory, loving wife of 34 years, Ginger Cook; sister, Susan Parish (Randy)of Midway ; nephews, Ryan Parish (Stacey) of Midway, Matthew Sparks, and Christopher Sparks (Haley) both of Arkadelphia; nieces, Andrea Tugwell (Dusty), Jill Long (Justin) both of Midway; great-nephews, Jack and Leighton Tugwell of Midway; cousins, Ray Cook (Nancy), Rustin Cook, and Taylor Doddridge all of Midway; and a host of friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 21st, from 6-8pm at Midway Missionary Baptist Church.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, at 10am, at Midway Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Fred Etheridge and Bro. Alan Cansler officiating.

Pallbearers are Ryan Parish, Dusty Tugwell, Justin Long, Jack Tugwell, Leighton Tugwell, Matthew Sparks, and Christopher Sparks.

Honorary Pallbearers are Judge Dennis Thornton, the HSC Road Crew and Jimmie Cash.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Midway Missionary Baptist Church Youth Group for church camp fees (420 Womack Rd, Donaldson, AR 71941).
