Alta Sue Matthews, age 91, of Donaldson passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at her home.  She was born June 16, 1930 to Homer and Eula Basham Williams.  She married Granville B. Matthews on May 21, 1948.  She was a member of Ouachita Missionary Baptist Church at Donaldson.  She worked at Levi Strauss in Arkadelphia for several years.  Alta loved to go to flea markets.  She enjoyed making different kinds of crafts and playing cards and dominos.

Alta is preceded in death by her husband, Granville B. Matthews; parents, Homer and Eula Basham Williams; brothers, Wallace Williams, Cotton Williams and Doyne Williams; sister, Nadine Jones; one great granddaughter, Telilah McGhee.

Survivors, sons, Jerry Matthews (Brenda) of Malvern; Richard Matthews (Charlotte) of Donaldson; David Matthews of Bismarck; Mark Matthews of Friendship; sister, Betty Williams McDade of San Manuel, Arizona; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 4 from 9:00-10:00am at Regency Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 4 at 10:30am at Ouachita Cemetery with Brother Ron Hardin officiating.  Pallbearers will be Nick Matthews, Ken Matthews, Ben Matthews, Jason Nichols, Matt Williams and Dawson Plyler.  The family will meet at the home of Matt and Kelley Williams.
