Alton Jerry McKim, age 80, of Donaldson passed from this life on Friday April 19th at his home surrounded by his wife of 63 years and his loving family. He was born August 31, 1943, in Rector Arkansas, the son of Raymond and Bertie Inez McKim.

Alton retired from the Hot Spring County Road Department. In his early years he was an avid coon hunter, deer hunter, and fisherman. After his retirement he devoted himself to his farm and cows and could always be found on his tractor or with his cattle. He was a hard worker and devoted family man, willing to help whether it be friend or family or neighbors. He was a member of the Ouachita Missionary Baptist Church, and S & A Hunting Club.

Alton was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Bertie Inez McKim, son Curtis McKim, two brothers, Tom and Bennie McKim, granddaughter, Brook Nix.

Alton is survived by his wife, Ruth of the home, two sons Raymond McKim (wife Melissa) and Jerry Don McKim all of Donaldson, brother, Darrell McKim of Donaldson, three sisters, Hazel Porterfield of Caney, Virginia Totten (Gilbert) of Hurst, Texas, and Kay Fletcher (David) of Hot Springs, Eight grandchildren, Andy McKim (Brandy), Daniel McKim, Jason McKim (Trish), Landon McKim (Jeanni), Madison Schultz (Tyler), David Ivy, Colt Nix, and Abbie Nix, fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Ouachita Cemetery, Tuesday April 23, from 12noon until 1PM.

Graveside services will be at Ouachita Cemetery beginning at 1PM with Brother Rickey Poynor officiating.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Andy, Daniel, Jason, and Landon McKim, David Ivy, and Tyler Schultz.

Honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandsons, Caden, Jace, Wyatt, and Matthew McKim, Waylon Schultz, and Renzo Weaver.

Memorials may be made to the Ouachita Cemetery Fund.
