Alvin Newman Crenshaw age 89 of Poyen passed away October 7, at his home in Poyen.  He was born January 20, 1933, in Fenter AR to John Dalton and Pearl Webb.  Alvin was retired from logging, mechanic, and a machinist.  He was of the Baptist faith and served 3 years in the United States Navy.  Alvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling, camping, and friends.  His most treasured moments were with "his girls' Cara and Aniston.  Alvin was hardworking, selfless, a loyal friend, kindhearted, and loving husband, father, and papaw. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters, Lucile, Laverne, Louise and Linda, and his brother Norman, sister in-law, Wanda Butler, nephews Mike Horton and Allen Griggs and close friends Wesley and Sandra Webb

Survivors include his wife Stella Butler, one month shy of being married 59 years, two sons: Kirk (Katie) Crenshaw of Poyen, John (Mechelle) Crenshaw, two grandchildren: Jessica Crenshaw and Dalton Crenshaw, two great grandchildren; Cara Crenshaw and Aniston Morgan, nieces: Pam Edwards, Charlotte Perraut and Regina Lewis, nephews Darrel Lisenby, Wayne Root, Jason Root, Bryan Horton, and in-law; Sharon Butler, Wayne (Paula) Butler, Ray (Brenda) Butler, Carolyn Butler, and Patricia (Danny) Horn, and close friends Wayne and Nina Morehead.

Visitation will be held Monday October 10 at Regency Funeral Home from 6-8pm.

Graveside service Tuesday October 11, 10:00am at Lindsey-Poyen Cemetery with Eddie Watson officiating.  Pallbearers will be Steve Horton, Wayne Root, Blake Morgan, Brent Butler, Robbie Robertson, and Ronnie Robertson.  Honorary pallbearers: Wayne Morehead and Harold Lloyd Robertson.
