Betty Carolyn Atkinson age 87, of Hot Springs formerly of Malvern, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024, at Quapaw Care and Rehab. She was born January 25, 1937, in Malvern the daughter of James "Whitt" and Verda Mae Smith Neighbours. She was a loan officer for many years and then after retirement she enjoyed traveling at home or abroad around the world with her husband. Carolyn was a member of First United Methodist Church in Malvern.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 67 years, Herman R. Atkinson, Son, Mark Atkinson (Connie) of Malvern, daughter, Kerrie Hanna (Glenn) of Waco Texas, brother, Wayne Neighbours of Malvern, grandchildren, Austin Hanna (Christa), Emily Nicholson (Davis), Lindsay Atkinson, and seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 13, from10am until 11am at Regency Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 11AM Tuesday, August 13, 2024, in the Regency Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Wilson officiating. A private family burial will follow in Ouachita Cemetery.
