Betty Ruth Howard Ledbetter, known to the family as Granny, age 89 of Central, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Betty was born February 16, 1935, in Tallassee, Alabama. After moving several times, they settled in Butterfield when she was a child where her father ran the small store by the railroad track at Butterfield. She attended school and graduated from Magnet Cove High School.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, James and Lorene Howard; her siblings in Alabama: Lillie, Charley, Agnes, and Elsie; several sisters and brothers-in-law; and her husband of 66 years, James Edward (Jimmie) Ledbetter, who passed away in 2022. She is survived by her children: Terry Ledbetter, Clay Ledbetter (Leca), Carole Tarkington (Steve); grandchildren: Shannon Stout (Garrett), Cole Ledbetter (Susan), Katelyn White (Kirtley), Trey Troupe and Cole Troupe (Sara Davidson); great-grandchildren: Savannah, Jackson, and Gracie Stout, Peyton Ledbetter, and Bella Troupe.

Betty was a member of Taylor's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she was active as long as possible and had many close friends. Betty's calling was taking care of her home and family. She loved to attend her children's and grandchildren's ball games, to travel, and to play with her grandchildren. She taught them to swim and watched them climb the magnolia tree all while threatening them with any limbs they broke. Her grandchildren have many fond memories of spending time at Granny and Pop's house. In later years she and Pop would sit on the front porch and watch the world go by. In later years Granny and Pop were able to live at home together with the assistance of care givers and companions, Magen Aiston and Veronica Kremp but most notably Linda Evans, who was with Pop and then Granny most of the last three years.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 2PM until 3PM at Regency Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 3PM, her nephew Cass Ledbetter will officiate the service and burial will follow at Ouachita Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Cole Ledbetter, Trey Troupe, Tim Davis, Kirtley White, Garrett Stout, Jace Ledbetter and junior pallbearer Jackson Stout. The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice for the care they provided.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Taylor's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Central.

The family will be meeting at the home at Central.
