Betty Sampson Murphy, age 85, of Malvern, AR, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at CHI St. Vincent- Hot Springs. She was born on August 9, 1939, in Malvern, the daughter of Luther Benjamin (Ben) and Clarence Nichols Sampson. Betty worked as a bookkeeper for Murphy Service Center for many years and enjoyed bowling, loved going to the casino, and loved working on puzzles.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard Murphy; son, Jerry Murphy; daughter, Jackie Dowling; sisters, Ernestine Nutt, Loretta Efird, Juanita Harper; and brother, Keith Sampson.

Left to cherish her memory, son, Roger Murphy; brother, Gwinn Sampson; grandchildren, Kim Burks (Kevin), James Wallace (Nicole), Tina Dowling, Aimee Henderson (Brent); nieces and nephews, Gwendolyn Holloway (Alan), Jo Ann Montgomery (Tony), Linda Tune (Johnny), Cecil Nutt (Evalene), Euguene Harper (Dorothy), Bernard Nutt, and Nancy Welch (Bob); and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5th from 1-2pm with the funeral service starting at 2pm at Regency Funeral Home, with Rev. Brent Henderson officiating.

Burial to follow at Damascus Cemetery.
