Billy Jack McDaniel, age, 82, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs. Billy was born on November 21, 1940, the son of Vollie and Lorene McMahan McDaniel.
Bill was always a hard worker. In earlier years he worked in the log woods, then he was employed in construction work for DeGray Lake during the building of the Dam. He was also employed with International Paper Company for ten years and ended his years as a long-distance owner/operator truck driver, where he met many people and made a lot of friends.
Billy was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Malvern, AR. He worked in the church for many years and touched the lives of many young people. He was an avid hunter, a great provider for his family, loved helping others and was a good friend to many.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Vollie and Lorene McDaniel; two sisters, Patsy (Sonny) Mowery and Betty (Jim) Bradshaw; two nephews, Greg and Donald Mowery.
Billy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Geneva Hobgood McDaniel; daughter Angela (Darrell) Thomason; granddaughters, Heather and Ellie Thomason, all of Malvern; brothers, Marvin (Ruth) McDaniel of Donaldson, Fred McDaniel, and Benny (Karen) McDaniel all of Midway, AR; sisters, Joyce Hixon of Bryant, and Annette (Tommy) Hobbs of Midway, AR.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 25th from 6-8pm at Regency Funeral Home. Services will be held at Regency Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 26th at 1:00pm, with Rev. Tony Burrow and Rev. Keith Pennington officiating. Burial will be at Neighbors Cemetery in Midway, AR.
Pallbearers will be Chester Williams, James Pennington, Emmett Dixon, Rick Wilson, Terry McDaniel, Cass Ledbetter, Dale McDaniel, David McDaniel, Brian McDaniel, Shane Hixon, and Michael and Jason Hixon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
