Carl Edward "Sonny" Draper, Jr., 77, of Friendship passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at his home.  He was born March 2, 1945, in Malvern, the son of the late Carl Draper, Sr. and Pearl Ables Draper.  Sonny was a retired United States Army Veteran.  He was a member of the Arkansas Cattleman's Association, served on the Farm Bureau Board, member of the HSC 4-H, and a Mason.  He enjoyed gardening and doing yard work.  Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Sandoval and Billie Jo Talley; grandson, Adam Swaim and mother of his children, JoAnn Draper.

Survivors, daughters, Kelly Aunspaugh (Michael) of Haskell, Karen Swaim (Sam) of Malvern, Karla Vojtech (Zach) of Kodiak, Alaska and Kimberly Draper (fiancé, Chad Whaley) of Malvern; brother, Kenneth Draper (Annette) of Malvern; sister, Inez Williams (Edwin) of Benton; grandchildren, Alexis Huneycutt (Luke), Andrew Swaim, Amelia Swaim, Joleen Vojtech, Ilaree Vojtech, Carlie Vojtech, Edward Vojtech, and Cayleigh Whaley; his devoted sidekick, Cindy Sherman and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 12 from 6:00-8:00pm at Regency Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be Friday, May 13 at 10:00am at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Aunspaugh, Sam Swaim, Chad Whaley, Luke Huneycutt, Andrew Swaim and Michael Standifer.  Honorary pallbearers will be Zach Vojtech and Edward Vojtech.
