Carolyn Diana Rice age 76 of Traskwood passed away Monday August 24, 2026 to be with Jesus at her sister’s home. She was born March 31, in Benton to the late Gene and Verla Lovell Johnson. She was a homemaker and worked at Arkansas Health Center in food service until her retirement. Carolyn loved to watch westerns, Perry Mason, cooking and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth “Poppy” Rice, her father Gene Johnson, her Verla Lovell, stepmother Miriam Johnson, sister Betty Lou Burrow, brother-in-law’s, Jackie Marshall and David McEuen.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Donna “DJ” Jean Rice Basco, granddaughter, Kayla Danielle Rice Basco, ex sister-in-law Martha Rice, and grandson Kenneth Lane Basco, sisters Emily McCuen, Norma Marshall (Jackie), brothers-in-law, Clarence Rice, and John Burrow, Sisters-in-law, Becky Hart and Marsha Rice, and very special friend Ronald Harding JR., numerous nephews and friends, and her fur son, Buster Popcorn Rice.

Visitation will be Wednesday August 26, from 10:30 until 11:00AM with graveside services to begin at 11AM with Bro Elvis Sanchez officiating, Chaplain Keith Russell and her granddaughter Kayla Rice to speak at Fairplay Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Best, Bobby Scott, Ronald Harding, Travis Burrow, and Jackie Wood.

Honorary pallbearers are Ace Best, Donavan Painter and her Hospice Home Care team.
