Obituary

On Friday, October 27, 2023, Cheryl Ann Wooldridge of Magnet Cove, Arkansas went to be with her Lord & Savior. She passed away peacefully after battling health issues for 14 years. Cheryl was born to William "Pete" and Caroline (Cranston) Swilley on September 18, 1958, in El Dorado, AR.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard Swilley, and her sister Donna Summers. She is survived by her husband Stuart, her three sons: Rance (Emily) Wooldridge of Mountain View, Arkansas, Ross Wooldridge of all over the place, and Nathan (Taylor) Wooldridge of Anna, TX, and four beautiful grandchildren: Levi Hawkins, Emmy, Winter, and Tehya Wooldridge. Further, she leaves a brother Jeff (Sandra) Swilley of Camden, AR, and a number of nephews.

She met the love of her life, Stuart Wooldridge, at White Oak State Park in the summer of 1981 where she worked as a Park Naturalist and Stuart worked with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. They married shortly afterward on March 27, 1982, at East Main Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR. They shared 41 ½ wonderful years of marriage raising three sons together. Cheryl's boys were her world; she was their biggest fan and supporter in all their many sports and life endeavors. She also loved the Magnet Cove Panthers and the Arkansas Razorbacks. She and Stuart were often found following Panther Athletic teams all over the state, but they especially loved Panther Baseball.

A graduate of El Dorado High School (1976), Cheryl earned her Associate's (1978) and Bachelor of Science in Education (1980) from Southern Arkansas University, becoming the only member of her family to complete a college degree. She began her teaching career in 1982 at Camden High School followed by a move to Magnet Cove in 1985. Stuart and Cheryl chose Magnet Cove, AR as the place to raise their family. As a devoted educator, Cheryl completed 31 years of teaching Biology and other sciences at Magnet Cove and retired in 2016. Throughout her career, she imparted knowledge, wisdom, and love. Students and colleagues too numerous to count will always remember her fondly.

Cheryl and Stuart have served God faithfully as members of Lakeside Baptist Church since joining in 1993. In retirement, they have enjoyed traveling, assisting with the church food pantry, and spending time with their four precious grandchildren. She was an incredibly loving wife, mother, and Mimi to her sweet babies, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 1st from 6-8pm at Lakeside Baptist Church in Hot Springs, AR.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 2nd at 10:00 am at Lakeside Baptist Church in Hot Springs, AR with Bro. Robert Courtney officiating. Burial will be at Crestview Cemetery.
