Obituary

Christine Bittles, age 92, went to be with the Lord on October 2, 2026. She was born August 3, 1934, in Malvern, AR, to the late Floyd and Lillie Cothern Draper. She married her childhood sweetheart, Mickey Bittles, in 1953. She worked at Southwestern Bell Co. as a switchboard operator and later worked as a secretary at Teeter Motor Co. for 21 years. She was awarded “Employee of the Year” through the Malvern Chamber of Commerce. She was a charter member of Ouachita River Fellowship Baptist Church. She also taught several years of Sunday School at Third Baptist Church and was a well devoted Christian who loved the Lord.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, her two brothers, Claudie and Bobby Draper, and sister Maxine Gillespie of Bryant.

She is survived by one son, Joe Bittles and his wife Debra of Malvern; two grandchildren, Blake Bittles and his wife Marsha of Malvern, and Brandi Smith and her husband Matt of Malvern; six great-grandchildren, Lane Smith, Madysn Smith, Ayden Bittles, Bentley Bittles, Stephanie (Dillon) Voss, and Emma (Lucas) Witherspoon; several nieces and nephews, Judy Cozart, Wyndall Draper, Jerry Draper, Harry Draper, Larry Draper, Gary Draper, Evelyn Touchette, Martha Jordan, Robert Draper, Wanda Draper, and Betty Draper.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 6, at 11:00 AM, at Regency Funeral Home with Rev. Thomy Green officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Barney Ingram, Alan Overturf, Don Walsh, Ayden Bittles, Lane Smith, and Wade Overturf.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Raymond O’Neal and Mark Bradley.

The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Saline Home Health as well as Elite Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Christine.

Memorial may be made to Ouachita River Fellowship Baptist Church “A Cup of Water” food pantry.
