Dave Ellis Walker was born to G.A. and Jamie Walker on April 25, 1956. He is preceded in death by his father G.A. Walker, grandparents Clinton and Carrie Brashears, grandparents JG and Helen Walker, and daughter-in-law Randi Runions. He is survived by his mother Jaime Walker; his wife of 34 years, Alana (Powers) Walker; children, Chelsea (and Keaton) Loy, Brannon (and Ashley) Runions, Blake Runions; grandchildren, Blakely, Braylee, Conner, Mason, River, Tucker and Colden (Coco).

Dave was full of life and loved to have a good time. He was known for being the friend you could count on to come help you any time you needed a hand. Although, he was also known for being an 80% when it came to finishing home projects. His favorite pastimes were fishing with Joe or sailing his boat on Lake Ouachita. But if the wind wasn't strong enough for a sail, he would head out on his motorcycle to enjoy the breeze and feel the sun on his back.

Dave was born and raised in Malvern, Arkansas. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Rockport Lodge. He was a hard worker and enjoyed various fields throughout his secular careers and retired from his last venture at Riggs Caterpillar. His highlight of work life was when he met Alana working at Westinghouse in 1989. Dave was persistent with proposals, suffering rejection after rejection. Then he finally told her when she was ready to let him know. She got ready and turned the script on him, asking him to marry her and they did in 1990.

It wasn't long before they welcomed their baby girl, Chelsea, in 1991. Dave built the house they lived in as a family and the couple spent their younger years raising their children and building their life-long friendships with the best friends they could ask for. Shortly after retiring, Chelsea and Keaton made Dave a grandfather to his twin grandsons. Pawpaw was day care for them until they started school. Double diaper duty made Dave a pro at managing little tykes and all the grandkids loved the mischievous ways they could have fun with Pawpaw. Whether it be the rides on the 4-wheeler or the trampoline he set up for them, Dave was always up to something. He was a jolly, overall wearing Pawpaw with one pant leg tucked in his boot. He had a way about him that made anyone who needed a PawPaw feel like they had one in him.

An annual highlight for Dave was heading out to Big Horn Hunting Club with all his buddies. It was a regular routine to get camp ready and a family tradition to hunt with his son Brannon and grandsons Conner and Coco.

Dave's golden years were cut short when he passed away on January 23, 2025, but he made what time he had count. Whether he was on a motorcycle trip, camping, at the beach, or just down at the Hippie Holler, he was up for a good time. The infectious smile he carried made everyone feel they were the most important person in the room. As we toss back a beer, take a stiff shot, or pour a tall glass of milk, we can take a minute to think of the things Dave loved and have one in honor of him.

Services will be held at Regency Funeral Home located at 1839 Pine Bluff St., Malvern, AR 72104 on Sunday, January 26, 2025. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. and services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pete Eifert officiating. Pallbearers: Brian Wingo, Robert Braasch, Shannon Dyer, Matt Owens, Thomas Robb, Jay Perryman. Honorary Pallbearers: Joe Fite and Brad Adams.
