Debbie Ann
Finkbeiner
Oct 25, 1952 — Apr 12, 2024
Glen Rose
Debbie Ann Finkbeiner, age 71 of Glen Rose, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, peacefully at her home. She was born October 25, 1952, to Blann and O'dell Dawson. She was a beloved fourth-grade teacher at Glen Rose Elementary School for 26 years.
Debbie was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Tommy Finkbeiner; her parents, Blann and O'dell Dawson; and three infant sisters, twins Janis and Janet Dawson, and Patsy Dawson all of whom were from Glen Rose.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Marc Finkbeiner and Lisa Finkbeiner; the Best Grandson Ever, Dawson Paul Finkbeiner; her brother, Jerry Dawson; and many loving nieces and nephews, cousins, former students, and wonderful friends.
While she loved her husband and children immensely, no one could compare to her grandson, Dawson. When asked about him, one should be prepared to pull up a chair and stay awhile. Debbie enjoyed teaching, teaching, and teaching. Everything revolved around education. She was considered "that" teacher and loved each one of her students.
Debbie loved her fur babies, Magnum PI (Tom Selleck, the other Tom in her life), The Walking Dead, Virgin River, and Rip, from Yellowstone. She also loved Diet Coke, Sonic, and her niece's strawberry pie.
Per her request (demand), there will not be a visitation or a service. Debbie's arrangements were made in advance and if they weren't carried out to the letter, she said she would come back to haunt her children.
Arrangements are being made to set up an educational scholarship in her memory.
