Deborah Bridges, age 74 passed away Friday, December 29, 2023, at Baptist Hospital in Malvern. She was born January 21, 1949, to Braxton and Bertha Byrd of Poyen, AR.
She was an avid golfer and loved Malvern Country Club. She was never going to be a professional, but she worked hard and loved to play in the Friday night scramble. That was the theme of her life, she worked hard at everything she did. She was an All-State player in basketball her Senior year and declined a basketball scholarship to marry her high school sweetheart, Gary Bridges. Loving mother and grandmother, Deborah and Gary were married for 57 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Braxton and Bertha Byrd of Poyen, Brother, Jerry Byrd of Bauxite and Granddaughter Jacy Callen Rudolph of Malvern.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Gary, two children, Leah Rudolph and husband Jason of Malvern and Russell Bridges and Denise of Hot Springs. Four Grandchildren, Justin Rudolph of Hot Springs, Gabrielle Rudolph of Malvern and Baylee Rudolph of Malvern, and Canyon and wife Natalie Bridges of Oklahoma City.
Daughter of her heart, Brandi and husband Bill Duke and grandchildren Marly & Finley Duke all of Malvern. Two Brothers, Mike and wife Vanessa Byrd of Poyen and Mark and wife Vicki Byrd of Poyen; numerous double cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
Pallbearers are Dwayne Shinn, Carrol Lee, James Lucas, James Kizziar, Larry Tuggle, Dale Wetherington.
Honorary Pallbearer is Ralph Williams.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 6-8 pm at Regency Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 2pm at Regency Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Ron Wilks officiating. Burial to follow at Lindsey – Poyen Cemetery.
