Despine Sierra
Norwood
Jun 16, 1961 — Feb 16, 2026
Malvern
Despine Sierra Norwood, age 64, of Malvern, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 16, 1961 to the late Virgil and Evelyn (Buie) Smith. She worked for 30 years at Pactiv.
Despine was a woman of quiet strength, deep kindness, and endless generosity. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and important. Her love was steady, warm, and unconditional.
Her children were her greatest pride, and her grandchildren were her whole world. Being Nana was her happiest role. She poured her heart into her family, creating memories filled with laughter, comfort, and love that will last forever.
For 18 months, Des fought a long and difficult battle with cancer. She faced it with courage, grace, and unwavering strength. She remained positive through it all and never stopped encouraging the people around her. Even in her final days, she gently reminded her family, "God has a plan." Her hope and strength carried all of us.
She loved the beach. The sound of waves, the warmth of the sun, and the peace it brought her. She treasured time with friends, whether sitting and talking for hours or simply enjoying being together. The simple things meant the most to her.
Though our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the love she gave us. Her strength, her kindness, and her beautiful spirit will live on in her children, her precious grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her children, Dustin Norwood (Savannah), Jennifer Norwood (Destiny), Chad House, Jordyn Efird, and Madison Robinson; long-time partner Jeff Robinson; siblings, Mike Smith (Renee), Max Smith (Courtney), Michelle Smith, and Pam House; grandchildren, Madi, Brecker, Witten, Avery, Kane, and Jagger.
A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, February 20, at Regency Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
Despine's family would like to thank everyone who prayed, called, visited, and loved Des so well over the past 18 months. Your support has meant more than could ever be expressed.
