Dorothy Bearden, 97, of Malvern passed away on January 13, 2023 at her home.  She was born April 22, 1925, in Malvern, the daughter of Norman and Verda Opal Gullett Rouse.  She was buried at Social Hill Cemetery in a private family service. Dorothy worked as a charge nurse for state hospital.  She was a member of the Rockport Missionary Baptist Church and Eastern Star.  Dorothy loved quilting.  Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Bearden, father of her children, Edward Allen Cornell and sister, Margie Louise Thornton.

Survivors, sons, Ed Cornell (Jodie) of Royal and Paul Bearden of Union City, TN; daughters, Betty Hight of Wasilla, AK, Linda Bettis (Gary) of Hot Springs and Deborah Cornell of Hot Springs; stepson, Ronnie Bearden of Benton; stepdaughter, Brenda Stevens (Richard) of Marietta, GA; ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren; niece and nephew, Kathy and Ricky Thornton; great nieces and nephew, Bree, Savannah and Justin.

The family would like to give special thanks to Baptist Hospice and Home Health Care, Eldercare and Mrs. Ernie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the HSC Historical Society.
