Dorothy Carolyn Bolliera, age 91, of Malvern, Arkansas, went to meet her Heavenly Father on June 13, 2026.

Dorothy was born on July 22, 1934, at the Young family homestead in Willow, Arkansas. She was one of ten children born to Horace Greely Young and Mary Ethel Childers. Her early years were spent in the Brush Creek Community at the one room school house. She then attended grade school at Carthage before moving to the big town of Malvern. While in high school at Malvern, she waitressed at the Double Decker Cafe as her work ethic started at a young age. During her high school years, she was a valued member of the basketball team and went by the nickname "Dizzy". After graduating high school at sixteen, she convinced her mom and dad to let her move to Little Rock where she was able to get a job at Westinghouse where her older sister, Vanetia, was already employed.

On December 23, 1952 she married the first love of her life, Fay W. Hilburn, who she was married to for 29 years, before he preceded her in death in 1980. She worked for several years at A.B. Cook Company during this time. After 15 years of working in the business industry, Dorothy began studies at Henderson in 1966 where she majored in English and History and later graduated in 1969.  She began teaching 7th and 8th grade English at Lake Hamilton School District. The following year, 1970, she began her career at Malvern High School as a 10th grade English teacher. In 1982 she received her Masters Degree in Library Science and Information from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She would then continue to spend the next 26 years devoting her time to the Malvern School District as both an English teacher and librarian. In her later years, with her work nature, she devoted much time at the Hot Spring County Boys and Girls Club writing grants and working the front desk.

On May 31, 1991 Dorothy married Edwin Bolliera. They were blessed with 20 years of marriage where they spent years camping, crappie fishing, and attending grandchildren's activities. Dorothy lived an active and vibrant life. After school hours and in the summer, Dorothy was well known for running the bowling alley and Park Hill swimming pool. She always enjoyed sports and was involved in slow pitch softball as a coach and player until her sixties, as well as bowling competitively in leagues until her 80th birthday. Her competitive spirit and enthusiasm for life were evident in all she did. Above all else, her greatest joy came from supporting her girls, her grandchildren, and faithfully attending and encouraging them in every aspect of their lives.

Dorothy will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her commitment to education, her strong faith, and her unwavering support of those she loved. Her kindness, strength, and example will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Kristi A. Purifoy of Malvern; son-in-law, Steve Chadwick also of Malvern; six grandchildren, Jenna McKiddy (Jeremy), Riley Chadwick (Megan), Schantz Flores (Sara), Grace Pierce (Cole), Kane Purifoy, and Macy Purifoy all of Malvern; and nine great grandchildren, Cooper and Coy McKiddy, Addison McDade, Adler and Atley Chadwick, Cohen and Briggs Flores, and Willow and Weston Pierce, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Horace Greely Young and Mary Ethel Childers; husbands, Fay W. Hilburn and Edwin D. Bolliera; her daughter, Nita Fay Chadwick; five sisters, Ida Mae Young Voss, Emogene Young Petit, Vanetia Young Foiles, Betty Sue Young, Inez Young Hayes, and her 4 brothers Arlis Young, Nolen Young, Craig Young, and Reece Young.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 16, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Regency Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, June 17, at 10:30 AM, at Hunters Chapel Cemetery, with Rev. Tammy Harrell officiating.

Pallbearers will be Steve Chadwick, Riley Chadwick, Jeremy McKiddy, Schantz Flores, Kane Purifoy, and Cole Pierce.
