Elaine Brewster Glover passed away on August 23, 2023, from complications of Alzheimer's disease.  She was born on July 28, 1935, and recently celebrated her 88th birthday.  Elaine grew up in Ft. Smith and was the daughter of Arch and Louise Brewster.  She graduated from the University of Arkansas, where she met her husband of 66 years, Dorsey Glover.  Her greatest joy was her family including daughters Susan Brittain (Bruce) and Nancy Womack (David) and her son, Bill Glover (Fay) who predeceased her.  She delighted in her four granddaughters, Sarah Brittain Clark (Chris), Rachel Brittain, Ashleigh Womack Shepherd (Austin) and Paige Womack (Megan).  Her first great grandchild, Bennett Clark, arrived in early 2022, and she loved holding him and watching him learn to crawl and walk. Elaine was an incredibly kind and thoughtful person who leaves behind many more family members and friends she loved.

Elaine was the first woman elected to serve on the Magnet Cove School Board in the 1970s. She served for 8 years, including time as President, and made countless contributions to the students and teachers of Magnet Cove. She also served as PTA President for several years and enjoyed being a volunteer in her children's classrooms. Elaine was passionate about Bible studies, and after attending Bible Study Fellowship for years, she also served as a study-group leader. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Malvern for many years, and during that time she chaired the Building Committee, which built the current sanctuary and fellowship hall.  She loved bird-watching, cooking, gardening and sharing everything from magazine clippings to advice columns to Bible verses with the people she loved. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family.

The family offers special gratitude to Benita, her caregiver for the last two years, who made every day better.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 28 at 1:30 pm at Anthony Chapel at Garvan Gardens.  The chapel is accessed from the parking lot, so it is not necessary to enter the Garden.
