Emmett Gene (Mickey) McCormack peacefully ended his life's journey on Sunday, January 9, 2022, after a short illness. Born June 19, 1944, in Houston, TX to Emmett McCormack and Addie Lee Ballard. Gene was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Geneva George, Claudia May Prier, Gloria LaWanda Laskaris and Sharleen Manning.
Gene will be greatly missed but always fondly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Myrna; his children, Debbie Gregory of Conroe, TX, Donna Cerros (Frank) of Houston, TX, Clinton Parker (Lori) of Cane Hill, AR, Gregory Parker (Anita) and Tracy Parker (Kari) all of Malvern and Rhonda Betzner (Paul) of Biscoe, AR; sister, Peggy Aleshire (Larry) of Maumelle, AR. Gene was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren who lovingly called him Bumpa or Pawpa.
Gene wore many hats-as a loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather, a proud patriot having retired from the Army and the National Guard, retiring as a Deputy Sheriff with Pulaski County, Arkansas Sheriff's Department, a dedicated coffee drinking buddy, prankster and a brother in Christ. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and his fellowship with his church family was an important part of his life.
Gene had many interests. He loved spending time with family, playing music, singing and riding motorcycles with his buddies. After retirement he and Myrna made many long road trips across the U.S. together with their fur babies, Lady and Corey.
The family would like to thank the staff at Baptist Health Medical Center H.S.C for their loving care of Gene. Dr. Bruce Burton is especially appreciated for his long time care and friendship. The Trinity Baptist Church family is always appreciated for their loving care.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 11:00 on Saturday, January 15 at Regency Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 with Brother Tim Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Highway 222. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Trent Parker, Forrest Parker, Terrance Parker, Jeff Parker, Brandon Betzner and Christopher Parker. Honorary pallbearers are Gene's Andy's and McDonald's coffee drinking buddies and his special longtime friend, Dick Denham.
