Emogene Cunningham
Meek Nix Nutt
Sep 28, 1926 — Jun 16, 2026
Malvern
Emogene Cunningham Meek Nix Nutt was born to Sam and Ellie Cunningham on September 28, 1926 and passed from this life on June 16, 2026, about 3 1/2 months before her 100th birthday.
She was a resident at Encore in Malvern, AR for the past 2 1/2 years and had lived in and around Malvern most of her life with the exception of 20 years residing in Weslaco, TX so that she could marry her first husband, Howard Meek, and have her 4 children.
She is preceded in death by three husbands, Howard Meek, Guy Nix, and Calvin Nutt; her parents, Sam and Ellie Cunningham; a brother, Donald Cunningham; three sisters, Maxine Downing, Mary Ross, and Pauline Cash; as well as one daughter, Marilyn Nusbaum.
She is survived by two sisters, Burdean Cave (Bill) and Elizabeth Williams; a daughter, Margaret Seastrom of Malvern AR; two sons, James Meek (Sheryl) of Malvern AR and Monty Meek (Tina) of Monticello, AR. She had 6 grandkids, George Kidder, Spencer Dickerson (Jennifer), Jonathan Meek (Elizabeth), Jennifer Robbins (Rickie), Justin Meek, and Courtney Hale (Shane). She also had 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, even cousins and friends and she loved us all dearly.
She was a member of Rockport Missionary Baptist Church in Malvern AR where she loved to attend until she could no longer do so. She would VERY often say, I love THE LORD and I love my family. In her last few years, she would often ask the question, why do you think THE GOOD LORD is leaving me here? I would tell her, because you still witness to people about THE LORD JESUS...and she did.
The family wishes to express a special "Thank You" to the good people of Encore Nursing Home and Rehab.
