Franklin Eugene Beard, 82, of Malvern passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Encore Nursing and Rehab.  He was born March 13, 1940, in Malvern, the son of the late Oscar and Francis Lucille Galloway Bear. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James Carl Beard and sisters, Nancy Beard Milsap and Francis Beard Abbott.

Eugene served in the United States Army.  After his service, he worked in the industrial field.  Eugene enjoyed working hay and cows with his boys.  He also enjoyed working with his coon dogs and coon hunting.  He loved his family dearly and worked hard to provide for them.  Eugene is and was loved greatly and will be missed.  Eugene has found peace with his God.

Survivors, wife, whom he married on May 6, 1960, Erika Beard; sons, Ernest Beard (Sara), Eric Beard (Connie), Richard Beard, Cody Beard (Sarah) and Danny Beard (Paula); daughter, Cynthia Beard; brother, Donald Beard; sister, Lenora Bell; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 7 from 1:00-2:30pm at Regency Funeral Home.

Graveside service, with military honors, will be held Saturday, May 7 at 3:00pm at Fairplay Cemetery with Brother Dillon Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Matt Penix, Ray Otts, Ethan Beard, Ernest Beard, Cody Beard, Stephen Beard and Elijah Beard.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church, 928 Traskwood Road, Malvern, AR 72104.
