Gene Roger Edwards, 84, of Fenter, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, February 13 at UAMS.  He was born on March 14, 1937, in Bowie, Texas the son of the late Thomas and Ethel Mae Smith Edwards.  Gene was a paratrooper and medic in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.  He was a lover of the outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing or just sitting outside.  Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Earnestine Edwards; brothers, Troy Edwards and Luther Edwards; granddaughters, Brandi and Melainie and a special friend, Lucille.

Gene leaves behind his daughters, Patricia Neal (Randy) of Fenter, AR, Vallerie Elbert (Don) of Searcy, AR, Jeri Lynn Pierce (Matt) of Dos Palos, CA, Shirlene Loera (James) of Madera, CA, and Christine Porter of Bakersfield, CA; son, Mike Edwards of Dos Palos, CA; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; bonus grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private service at a later date.
