Obituary

Glen Coston age 87, of Magnet Cove passed away Sunday March 10, 2024, at NPMC in Hot Springs. He was born on March 17, 1936, in Malvern, AR, the son of Elmer and Lillie Mae Thurber Coston.

Glen served in the Army/National Guard for 27 years having served in the Korean Conflict retiring as Command Sergent Major, was a retired schoolteacher, having taught at Magnet Cove, Glen Rose, Ouachita, and was Principal at Ouachita and Superintendent at Magnet Cove until his retirement. Glen was instrumental in the first planetarium in a high school in the United States at Magnet Cove in 1970.

He was very active in his community serving as an original JP on HSC First Quorum Court, 50 years in the Lions Club, Rockport Cemetery Board, and currently was Senior Deacon at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church where he was a longtime member.

He loved to fly remote controlled airplanes, was a Master Gardener and enjoyed gardening at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 67 years, Marcille Keith Coston, brother Keith Dale Coston, and sister Anna Mae Borrosch.

Survivors are his sons, Brian Coston (Martha) of Malvern, Brad Coston of Little Rock; brother, Morris Coston (Shari) of Hot Springs; sisters, Barbara Smith of Magnet Cove, and Wanda Bray of Malvern; grandchildren, Camille Coston, Emily Locke (Wesley), and Elliot Coston (Audrey); great-grandchildren, Charlotte Belle Locke and Kennedy Leigh Locke; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 14th, from 6-8pm at Regency Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 15th at 10am at Regency Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Doug Burch officiating. Burial to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Joe Bennett, Elliot Coston, Mike Fite, Wayne Welchman, Steven Michael, Wesley Locke, Darrell Wallace. Honorary Pallbearers are Richard Bennett and Wayne Smith.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church. (3950 Gourdneck Rd. Malvern, AR 72104)
