Glynda Dale (Granny) Edwards, age 80 of Poyen passed away Wednesday October 20, 2021 at her home. She was born on September 7, 1941 in Houston, TX. the daughter of Dale Dempsey and Winifred Violet Matthews Price. Glynda was a homemaker and caregiver to many children and adults, and was a member of the Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She loved planning a party, writing poems and loved to cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Mark Edwards.

Survivors are her husband of 63 years, John K. Edwards, son Matthew Roland Edwards both of Poyen, daughters, Melissa Dobbs of Hot Springs, and Elaine Bray (Kenneth) of Poyen, sisters, Charlotte Wisdom (Pete) of Pearland, TX., Ginger Pitts of South Houston, TX., LaNell Blair of Dickinson, TX., and Rhonda Price of Brenham, TX. and eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, host of friends and church family.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 21, from 6-8PM at Regency.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 22, at 10AM at Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Brothers Mark Thornton and Chris Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in Big Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Trey and Justin Dobbs, Brad Henderson, Joshua and Caleb Masters, Robbie Holter.

Honorary pallbearers are Randy Gill and Eddie Hewitt.
