Henry Miles Schales of Donaldson, passed away on January 8, 2024, at the age of 97. He was born on September 17, 1926, in Newport, AR to the late Otis and Bertha Conyers Schales. He was of the Baptist faith and a Mason. Henry graduated from Donaldson Highschool and was also a World War II Navy Veteran. After returning from the service, he became a miner, working in the Baroid Mines then moved his wife and three children to San Manual, AZ, where he worked in the copper mines. After a few years he returned to AR and worked several jobs – National Gypsum and Pirelli Cable and finally retired from CADC, where he drove a van for the senior adult center. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping but mainly he loved being with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 65 years, Patty Dingler Schales; sons, Ricky Schales and Steve Schales; great-granddaughter, Erica Schales; sisters, Nellie Brantly, Ruby Swain, and infant sibling, Lina Mae; brothers, Roy Schales, EJ Schales, and infant Troy Schales.

Left to cherish his memory, daughter, Beverly Palmer of Donaldson; daughter in-laws, Linda Schales of New DeRoche and Connie Schales of Donaldson; sister, Juanita Lowery of CA; grandchildren, Dana Pickens (Mark) of Donaldson, Wade Stafford (Robyn) of Glen Rose, Cristy McClard (David) of Bismarck, Tesa Johns of TX, Scott Schales (Mindy) of Donaldson, Leslie Morrison (Stephen) of Donaldson; great-grandchildren, Laney Ford, Lensey Ford, Madison Schales, Chase Morrison, Kylee Morrison, Alex Stafford(Lacy), Kaylee Stafford, Ashlee Stafford, Ethan Stafford, Marlana Pickens, and Garrett Pickens; great-great grandchildren, Jade, Gage, Kane, and Jett Stafford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday January 10th from 1:30-2:30pm with the funeral service starting at 2:30pm at Regency Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Roger Reid officiating.

Burial to follow at Ouachita Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wade Stafford, Scott Schales, Stephen Morrison, Mark Pickens, David McClard, and Alex Stafford.  Honorary Pallbearers are MC Conyers and Bobby Clifton.

The family is thankful for the faithful care of the staff at Elite Hospice Care and to a special caregiver Kathy Gonzalez.
