Hermon Overton Oakes, 77, of Sheridan, AR entered his heavenly home on November 26th 2023 at Sheridan Nursing Facility.

Hermon was born January 22, 1946, in Little Rock, AR. to William Jewel and Ruth Elizabeth Overton. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers Jimmy Overton (Joyce) of Haskell, Paul Overton (Sara) of Malvern, sisters, Martha Hunter (Dwight) of Bentonville, Elsie Bradshaw of Benton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Church service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Pastor Jon Horton officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM till 11 AM at the Church.

Burial to follow at Traskwood Cemetery in Traskwood, AR.

Pallbearers are: Robert Bradshaw, Tommy Jester, Timmy Jester, Brittni Ballard, Maci Wright, and Jacob Wright.
