Hessie Ann Perry Hughes received her wings on January 30th, 2026 at the age
of 88. Hessie was born in England, Arkansas on May 4th, 1937 to Foster Perry and Margaret Nolan Perry Hicks. She married the love of her life, James Cletus Hughes, on May 8th, 1953.
Together they had five children, Belinda Knight (Bill), Ricky Hughes (Karen), Lisa Holder
(Rob), Charlotte Schweitzer (John), and Mike Hughes (Dana). Hessie had 29
grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Hessie found great joy working in her flower garden, caring for animals, painting,
and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a member of the Rockport
Methodist Church, where she was a devoted Sunday school teacher for many years.
Hessie radiated love and warmth to everyone who knew her, and she will be deeply
missed by her family and loved ones.

Hessie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cletus, grandsons Shawn
Henderson and Zayden Schweitzer, her six siblings, seven step siblings, and two half-brothers.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February the 5th, at Regency Funeral Home
at 1:00 in the afternoon, with the funeral following immediately after at 2:00 with Rev. Jeff Ladd officiating.

Pallbearers will be her loving grandsons, Jay Knight, Ethan Knight, Clete Hughes, Larry Morris,
William Schweitzer, and Cody Hughes.
