Horace Douglas Jr., age 81, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026, after a long battle with COPD.  He was born October 12, 1944, in Malvern, to the late Horace and Eva Jean (Paul) Douglas.  He was a member of the Malvern High School Class of 1962.  He retired from the Malvern School District in 2009.  He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Air Force having served time during the Vietnam era. He was of the Baptist faith.

Horace had several hobbies: camping, fishing, deer hunting, canoeing, and traveling.  He enjoyed planning big family trips and loved cruising with friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Sidney Van Douglas.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Roseanna Douglas; daughter, Alana Wood (Stefan) of Malvern; son, Brian Douglas (Amy) of Malvern; grandsons, Justin Denham of Malvern, Jacob Douglas (Rayna) of the US Navy; great-grandchildren, Zolee Denham, Miracle Robertson, Claire Denham, and Sylvie Douglas; brother, David Douglas (Floy) of Hot Springs; sister, Shari Douglas of Hot Springs; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, at 10:00 AM, at Prairie Bayou Cemetery in New DeRoche with Brother Bruce Gilmore officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers are his long-time friends Tommy English and Tim Lowry.

A special "Thank You" to the caring team at Higginbotham Family Clinic in Malvern and the compassionate team from Hospice Home Care in Hot Springs.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
