Jacquetta "Jackie" Ann Ramsey was born on May 20, 1938, to James "Crip" Mears and Cora May Cooper. She grew up in Alleene, Arkansas, alongside many of her family members, and completed her life in Malvern, Arkansas. She loved to basketball and volleyball, visiting with her extensive family, and cooking meals for holidays as well as the Tuesday night recovery meeting at her church. She also enjoyed chatting on the phone with her sister, Bernice, every Sunday morning.
Jackie had a complex work history during her life, spending much of it harvesting cotton and soy beans. She also spent time in the timber industry and a shoe factory, spending the majority of her retirement years caring for her grand- and great grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Crip Mears and Cora May Cooper, her husband, Delter "Buddy" Ramsey, her youngest son, Gary Robert Ramsey, her granddaughter, Cortney Smith, her sisters, Ethel Bernice Booth and Linnie Mae Mears, and her brothers, Herman, Vernon, and Everett Ramsey.
She is survived by her children, James "Jim" Mears, Kenneth Ramsey, William "Bodie" (Kathy) Ramsey, Dana Ramsey, Debra Thompson, Charles "Charlie" (Ann) Ramsey, Joe (Tricia) Ramsey, and Dorothy Griffin, her grandchildren, Mitchell Mears, Gary-Lee (Brandy) Ramsey, Kenny (Misty) Ramsey, Whitney (Josh) Bussell, Sara Beth (Terry) McClard, Tasha (Brandon) Blaylock, Timothy "TJ" (LeAnna) Rogers, Michael Ramsey, Jerry "Bubba" (Amber) Trigg, Lisa Trigg, Logan (Carly) Ramsey, Lucas (Abby) Ramsey, Christopher Ramsey, James Weatherford, Jake Weatherford, Sebastian Ramsey, and Amanda (Matt) Vardaman, thirty-three (33) great grandchildren, and four (4) great great grandchildren. She was also survived by her siblings Thurman Ramsey, Letha Tipping, Carol Buie, Reba Ramsey, and Joyce Akin.
Jackie, known to many as "Granny" or "Grandma," was unconditionally loving to all and will be surely missed.
Funeral Service will be held Friday November 21, 2025 at 6:00 PM in the Regency Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeff Efird and Bro. Ian Kumpe officiating. Visitation will immediately follow.
