James A. Bailey age 93, of Malvern passed away Sunday August 4, 2024 at Encore Healthcare. He was born July 9, 1931 in Malvern the son of A.H. and Lillie Lee Bailey. He was a graduate of Malvern High School Class of 1950, served in the National Guard, worked for Reynolds, and Lone Star Ammunition Plant, then went to work at the Arkansas Labor department achieving the assistant director position. He went on to work for Chamber Door in management, for many years before his next adventure in politics, serving three terms as the HSC Judge.
James loved to deer hunt, run dogs, as well as cattle farming, riding horses, playing bridge, golfing and was an avid fan of anything Arkansas razorbacks. He was a 71year member of the Masonic Lodge, being members of both Bethlehem and Rockport lodges.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Step-mom Emogene Bailey, two brothers, Verlon and Harold Dean Bailey.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 72 years, June VanDusen Bailey; daughters, Jamie Bond (husband David) of Sherwood, Susan Tanner (husband John) of Malvern, and Barbara Kidd of Hot Springs Village; grandchildren, Matthew Bond (Amber), Elizabeth Mason (Jarod), Jay Freeman (Candyce), Kaitlin McDowell (Brandon), Carson Kindy (Lynn), and Parker Kindy (Shelby); and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 9th from 6-7:30pm at Regency Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 10th at 10am, at Clear Creek Cemetery, with Rev. Courtney Bacon-Latina officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clear Creek Cemetery Association (1601 Miller St. Malvern, AR 2104).
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and nurses at Encore in the 100 hall, Ms. Kali and Ms. Betty.
