Obituary

James Edward Boyett, age 89, of Donaldson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 7, 2025. He was born on December 6, 1935 in Malvern, the son of Andrew and Addie Hixon Boyett. James spent his years enjoying the simple things--- family, the outdoors and the quiet moments of everyday life. He was married to his wife, Shirley (Ryan) Boyett, for 67 years.  Together they made their home in Donaldson where they found contentment in the everyday things and were surrounded by the people and things that mattered most to them and made life meaningful. He worked for many years in boat manufacturing retiring from Alumacraft Boats, and was a member The Pentecostal Church of Malvern.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Roy Lee "Bo" Boyett, Mary Lou Burris, Louise Edwards, Ann Purifoy, Artrue Boyett, Floyd Boyett, Clint Lunsford, and Mae Hosfield.

Survivor include his wife, Shirley (Ryan) Boyett; children, Debra Jones of Donaldson, Phil Boyett (Cathy) of Donaldson, and Angela Tays of Elkhart, IN.; Grandchildren, Daniel "Jed" Murphy of Malvern, Jamie McKim (Brandon) of Malvern, Rachael Tays of Elkhart, IN, Leah Tays of Indianapolis, IN, and Sarah Prichard of Donaldson; Great Grandchildren, Karma Murphy, Deja Murphy, Peyton McKim, Jaelynn McKim, and Lucy Prichard and numerous nieces and nephews.

James enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially deer hunting, trapping, and four-wheeler riding.  He was a member of the Victor Creek Hunting Club and appreciated the time he spent there over the years.  He also had a great fondness for dogs and owned many throughout his life.  Though a quiet man, he was loved by his family and will be remembered for his steady presence and simple way of life.

Pallbearers are Daniel Murphy, Brandon McKim, Keith Starkey, John McBride, Dirk Boyett, Danny Boyett, Scott Boyett, and Corey Tays.

Visitation will be Friday October 10, 2025 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM in the chapel prior to service. Service will begin at 2:00PM with Brothers Tim Ryan and Gary Ryan officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
