James Franklin (Frank) Farber, Sr. has moved on from this earth to the Heavenly Hunting Grounds.  Frank was born January 9, 1941 to Roy and Evia Kindrick Farber.  He worked at the AMF Bicycle plant in Little Rock, and Alcoa in Bauxite.  He belonged to the United Steelworkers of America.  Frank was the father of three children, oldest son, the late James (Jimmy) Jr., daughter Penny and youngest son Mike.

Other than his parents and son Frank was preceded in death by his brother, RJ Farber, sisters, Louise Farber, Elsie Harper and Birdie Harper.

Frank was an avid deer hunter, outdoorsman, fisherman, softball player, horseshoe player and won many tournaments in his time; the most recent with his son Mike, as a partner.  Frank could throw 4 ringers back to back.  He was an avid gardener and could make anything grow.  He also love to play poker with his family.  Frank was known as a prankster at times, always joking and laughing, but he was probably most known for always having a beer in his hand.  He would always offer one to any adult who came to visit, even offering the Assembly of God preacher who picked his kids up for church.

Frank's one big claim to fame was a trick he showed everyone when he took a straw broom and placed a brick on the bristles and could lift the broom up shoulder high with one hand, this trick amused people from near and far and everyone got a big kick out of watching him.  Very few people were able to copy the trick; just his brother Willie. Frank was also known for his fish cook outs where everyone came from miles around for his fish and hush puppies.

Survivors include his siblings, Dorothy Goyne of Malvern, Margaret Hicks of Malvern, Willie Farber (Joyce) of Malvern, Emma Henderson of Donaldson and Sherry Chandler (Jerry) of Atoka TN; daughter, Penny Brown of Hot Springs; son, Mike Farber (Renee) of Glen Rose; daughters-in- law, Tonya Farber of Glen Rose and Amy Whorton (Darrell) of Glen Rose; grandchildren, Brittany Wagner (Cameron) of Bismarck, Derek Farber (Hannah) of Magnet Cove, Stephanie Stevens (Joshua) of Glen Rose and Kimberly Farber of Glen Rose; great grandchildren, Joshua Stevens II, Cole Farber, Paislee Stevens and Sami Jo Stevens.  Also many nieces, nephews and cousins, along with friends.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 15 at 3:30pm at Francois Cemetery with Bro Jerry Chandler officiating. Pallbearers will be Derick Farber, Bill Heath, Charlie Goyne, Kevin Crow, Lynn Farber and Larry Hicks.
