James Henry Ray, age 82, of Malvern, went to his forever home on Saturday, September 14, 2024. He was born on June 9, 1942, in Dalark, AR, the son of Rafford and Minnie Sims Ray. His struggle with cancer was long and hard, but God gave him relief and peace with his family near him.

Henry retired from International Paper with 43 years served. His work ethic was of the highest standard as was anything he had ever done in life. He loved deer hunting, bass fishing and gatherings with his family. Henry adored his wife of 62 years, and worked all his life for his family and their needs. That's what made him happy. He was a quiet man, but when he spoke everyone listened. He served as a deacon at Gilead Baptist for many years, and was active in his church, as a youth director, song leader, and Sunday School teacher. He also took the youth to different events; his favorite was the Passion Play in Eureka Springs.

Left to cherish his memory, loving wife of 62 years Sharon Rushing Ray; children, Angela Cagle (James) and Melody Fuller (Chad); grandchildren, Nathaniel Cagle (Sandy), Kerstin Bell (David), Keegan Fuller (Serena), and Kristen Cagle; great-grandchildren, Jaydalinn Bell, Bayleigh Bell, Baysil Bell, Briyn Cagle, Skyelar Welch; and his favorite fur baby companion, Missy.

Much love and appreciation to Dr. Shawn Purifoy and staff, Dr. Peter Emanuel and staff, Dr. Chaka and staff, Victory Assembly of God Church, Gentiva Hospice, and the Care 4 Nurses. Thanks to family and friends who called and visited, and thank you to the person who hunted and camped with Henry for many years, brother Dean.

A family visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18th, from 6-8 pm at Regency Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, September 19th at 10am at Lono Cemetery, with Bro. Bobby George and Bro. Eric Ivy officiating.
