Obituary

Jerry Don Burris of Hot Springs, AR passed from death unto life March 7, 2025. He was born in Malvern, Arkansas to Woodrow Wilson Burris and Helen Hobbs Burris. Jerry Don was a graduate of Malvern High School and a proud member of the Class of 1969. Retirement was by far his favorite profession.

He is survived by his wife Sandi of almost 54 years who loved and doted over him. He was the beloved Father of three daughters, Kimberly Turner (Randy), Kourtney Richter, and Kristee-Camille Bailey (Neil). He was deeply loved as "Big Daddy" by his six Grandchildren; Madyson (Josh) Mitchell, Emerson Richter, Cooper, Parker, Spencer, and Chandler Bailey, whom he loved to aggravate. He was a tremendous great grandfather to seven-month-old Maddox Mitchell, whose eyes danced as she reached for him to hold her. Jerry Don is survived by his brother, Jimmy Burris (Linda) of Malvern, AR and one nephew, Josh Burris (Dana) of Fort Worth, TX.

He served in the Air National Guard from 1970-1976. He was stationed at both Lackland and Jacksonville Air Force Bases. Over the course of his life, Jerry Don enjoyed flying airplanes, feeding his birds and squirrels, trapping rogue racoons, and fishing with Charlie Ball. A gifted musician, he played the saxophone, drums, and piano, but playing the B3 Hammond organ was his calling. His faith in and devotion to God was the cornerstone of his life. Of all the people and things that he loved, none rivaled his relationship with the Lord Jesus.
