Obituary

Jodie Garner, 83, of Bismarck passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.  He was born January 17, 1939, in Hot Springs, the son of the late Earl and Essie Bean Garner.  He was manager for Safeway/Harvest Foods for many years.  Jodie loved to hunt and fish and was of the Baptist faith.  Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Johnnie Garner; brothers, Willie Garner, Jerrell Garner, Terrell Garner and Leon Garner and sister, Katherine Edwards.

Survivors, sons, Greg Garner of Malvern and Shawn Garner of Hot Springs; daughter, Velvet Ivy (Tony) of Malvern; grandchildren, Magen Allen (Jeremy), Matt Garner (Jennifer), Mack Ivy and Chase Ivy; great grandchildren, Lane Allen, Brodie Allen, Evie Allen, Eli Allen, Montana Garner and Houston Garner and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Thursday, September 22 at 2:00pm at Prairie Bayou Cemetery with Greg Garner officiating.  Pallbearers will be Chase Ivy, Mack Ivy, Matt Garner, Lane Allen, Brodie Allen and Bradley Hardin.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Arkansas Hospice and the 2 nd floor nurses at CHI-St. Vincent in Hot Springs.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Prairie Bayou Cemetery Fund, c/o Elderie Efird, 20133 Hwy 84, Malvern, AR 72104.
