Joette "Jo" Brashears Cordell, age 85, of Malvern, joined Jesus and Bill, her husband of 67 years on Wednesday January 15, 2025. She was born at home in Leola, Arkansas in Grant County on November 25, 1939. She was the fourth daughter of Carrie Childers and Clinton Brashears. She grew up in the Brush Creek Community as a cotton farmers daughter, played the piano at church and basketball in high school. Jo was a homemaker, Sunday School teacher, gardener and enjoyed working in her yard. She loved the Lord and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Benton and Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Malvern.

Jo joins Bill, her parents and sisters Melrose Ullaman and Iwana Mitchell in their heavenly home.

She will be remembered by her daughter, Melanie Howard (Rusty), sons, Steve Cordell (Anita), Joel Cordell (Kristy), Granny Jo to seven grandchildren, Adam, Sarah, Andrew, Rebekah, Katie, Allison and Amanda; eight great-grandchildren, Dillon, Alexis, Addison, Halle, Tanner, Jace, Colter, and Claire, and, Sister to Jaime Walker and Glen Brashears along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Saturday January 18, 2025 from 10AM until 11AM at Regency Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be at 11:30AM at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Brother Donis Smead officiating. Pallbearers are Steve Cordell, Joel Cordell, Adam Cordell, Andrew Cordell, Caleb Parish, Jeff Caple, Michael Chastain and Glen Brashears.
