John K. Edwards, age 83, of Poyen passed away Monday January 16, 2023, at his home. He was born in Poyen, October 12, 1939, the son of the late Clarence and Reatha Doris Roland Edwards. He was retired from Alcoa as a pipefitter and was a member of Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church. John loved to garden and enjoyed artwork/painting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife to whom he married July 15, 1958, Glynda Dale Price Edwards, and brother, Jerry Edwards.

Survivors are his son, Matthew Roland Edwards of Poyen, daughters, Elaine Bray (Kenneth) of Poyen, and Melissa "Missy" Dobbs of Hot Springs, brothers, Charles Winvell Edwards (Bonnie) of Woodville, TX., Allen Dale Edwards (Lynn) of Baytown, TX., sister Carol Ann Young of Poyen and eight grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday January 20, from 5PM until 7PM at Regency.

Funeral services will be at 10AM Saturday January 21, at Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Mark Thornton and Brother Chris Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in Big Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Joshua Masters, Caleb Masters, Robbie Holter, Dave Stephens, Trey Dobbs, Trey Dobbs II, Justin Dobbs, and Larry Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Gill and Eddie Hewitt.
