Karen Denise Burks, 73, passed away on November 3, 2026, at the Conway Regional Medical Center. She was born in Malvern, Arkansas to the late Flay Lloyd Burks and Bernice Collie Burks.

As a child, Karen attended Second Baptist Church and Pratt Elementary School. During her later years, she was a resident of the Arkadelphia Human Development Center and was, until her death, a resident of the Conway Human Development Center.

Karen loved kittens, her birthday parties, and was especially happy when she received blue jeans and shoes like Randy’s. She loved playing Old Maid cards and always thought she had won if she had the Old Maid card at the end of the game. She also enjoyed swimming at the lake.

Karen loved her family. She is survived by her brother Randy Burks and his wife, Sue; her nieces Tracy (Shawn) Studdard, Kristi (Brian) Golden, and her nephew Jeff (Kelly) Burks. She was also survived by her great-nieces and great-nephews: Allie (Sam) McFarland, Rachel (Diego) Perez, Lily (Brooks) Edmonson, Drew (Hollie) Golden, Lauren Golden, Tyler Burks, and Carson Burks. She had one great-great-niece, Millie McFarland. She is also survived by three special aunts: Laurice Voss, Juanita Collie, and Lavetta Collie.

A private graveside service will be held for the family on Thursday, November 5, at the Rockport Cemetery with Reverend Carl Richey conducting the service.
