Ken Williams, 60, of Malvern passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.  He was born April 6, 1962, in Fort Smith, AR, the son of Juanita Evelyn Williams.  Ken was the band director and a teacher at Malvern High School, where he had been for 32 years.  Ken began his first year at Gravette School District and then was at Prairie Grove School District for five years.  He was a member of Phi Beta Mu and ASBOA, where he served on the ASBOA Board from 2010-2017 and was president from 2016-2017, he was currently serving on the ASBOA Executive Advisory Board since 2017.  From 1992-1997, Ken served on the ABA Board and was president from 1996-1997.  He was also an adjudicator at different ASBOA region assessments (marching, concert, solo and ensemble).  He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he was the Sunday school superintendent and member of the choir and was a member of the Hot Springs Community Band.  Other than his mother, Ken is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Williams and niece, Julie Ann Olivella.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Cindy Cagle Williams; son, Grant Cagle Williams (Emily) of Lono; daughter, Grace Ann Church (Wil) of Springdale; brother, Harry Williams (Mitzi) of Fayetteville; grandchild, Wallace Williams; brother-in-law, David Cagle of St. Charles, AR; sister-in-law, Lynelle Thompson (Joe) of Texarkana, AR; nephews, Clint Cagle, Drew Thompson (Mallory) and Brady Williams; niece, Kelli Jo Thompson; great nephews, Ethan Olivella, Graham Thompson and Cameron Don Thompson and a host of friends and relatives.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 30 from 6:00-8:00pm at Regency Funeral Home.

Services will be Sunday, May 1 at 2:30pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Brother Carroll Koon and Brother Eli Maynard officiating.  Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Clint Cagle, Drew Thompson, Brady Williams, Randy Graham, Bryan Thomas and Robert Hesse.  Honorary pallbearers will be his fellow band directors for many years, ASBOA Board, American Band Directors Association and Claude Smith.
