Magnet Cove

Obituary

Linda Jean Luten (Francis), 60, of Magnet Cove, was called home on December 20, 2022, to care for her grandbabies in heaven. Linda was a member of Butterfield Missionary Baptist Church. Linda was born to Edward and Charlotte Francis (Geary) in York, Pennsylvania, on March 15, 1962. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Francis; her brother, John Francis; her sister, Patricia Francis; and two precious unborn twin grandbabies.

Survivors are her mother, Charlotte Francis of Conway; her daughter, Hannah Farber (Derek) of Magnet Cove; her son, Jonathon Luten (Lyanna) of Magnet Cove; brother, Mike Francis (Theresa) of Dallas, Texas; brother, Jim Francis (Sherry) of Little Rock; sister, Barbara Tilley (Ronnie) of Maumelle; and brother, Mitch Francis (Stephanie) of Texarkana. Her grandchildren included Cole Farber, Blakely Luten, and Jaxson Luten. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.   Linda had two nonbiological sons who held a special place in her heart; Blake Dodson and Nathan Dodson.

Linda loved being a teacher. She taught for 32 years at Henderson State University, Hot Springs School District, and Magnet Cove School District. She also taught several ACT Prep classes over the years. Linda earned her bachelor's degree in teaching elementary and her master's degree in reading. Every student she came into contact with knew they were loved and capable of greatness. She treated every child as her own and had several that claimed her as their own. Linda just retired from teaching in May of this year. Linda was also an avid crafter. She enjoyed making wreaths and diamond dots. Linda always made party decorations for her grandchildren and items for special occasions such as Hannah's wedding. Linda loved spending time with her mother and siblings.  Every Saturday, she drove to Conway to spend time with her mother.  Linda's greatest joys in life were her children and her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and going on fun adventures with them. The Arrowhead Road community held a special place in Linda's heart.  She was everyone's second mom in the neighborhood. Linda was always the person you could count on. She loved with her whole heart and will be missed by so many.
