Obituary

Lindal "Lefty" Baker passed away peacefully in his home on August 2nd, 2024 - one day shy of his 97th birthday. Lefty was born on August 3rd, 1927 in Rolla, AR, the son of Jessie Elliott Baker and William "Albert" Baker. Lefty married Bonnie Faye Voss on April 2nd, 1954 and remained a dedicated husband throughout their 60-year marriage. Lefty and Bonnie shared two daughters, Rebecca Lynn Baker and Holly Dianne Baker, whom Lefty doted on. Lefty was also the proud grandfather of his only grandson, Garrett Elliott Jackson.

Lefty bravely served in the Army during the Korean War as a Corporal in the 25th division, 95th heavy artillery unit. Lefty was a dedicated member of St. Paul's Methodist Church. Lefty was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Malvern Country Club. He won many golf tournaments with his golfing buddies throughout the years and shot three holes-in-one. Lefty will be remembered best for his cool demeanor on the golf course, his love and dedication to his family and many friends, his devout faith, and his strength.

Remaining to cherish Lefty's memory are: Garrett Jackson (grandson), Greta Presley ("third daughter"), Dottie Baker (sister-in-law), many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and devoted friends of many years.

Preceding Lefty in death are Bonnie Voss Baker (wife), Rebecca Baker (daughter), Holly Baker (daughter), Jessie Baker (mother), William "Albert" Baker (father), Winnie "Bernice" Anderson (sister) Audradean Bass (sister), and Don Baker (brother).
