Loda Burnett passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family on Monday, December 18, 2023, at the age of 89. Loda was born on April 27, 1934, in Benton, Arkansas, at Blakely Hospital to her loving mother, Hazel McCain, and the absolute best granny and pawpaw in the world, Lizzy and Hardy Farmer. She went to a two-room school in Benton where she met her husband, R.C. Burnett, her one and only. They married when she was 16 years old. They had five children, Susie, Shirley, Ricky, Roger and Tony.
Loda worked at Mel's Drive-In as a cook and manager for numerous years and later purchased the H & H Snack Bar on Main St. in Malvern where she was the chief cook and bottle washer for more than 20 years, until she retired and took to the lake. She enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, spending time with her family, and was of the Baptist faith.
Loda was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel McCain, husband, R.C. Burnett, after they were married 58 years. She was also preceded in death by her son, Tony Burnett, and her son-in-law, James Beck, and her sister Janet.
She is survived by her daughters, Susie Beck of Malvern, Shirley Burrow (Nick) of Big Creek Community, her sons, Ricky Burnett, and Roger Burnett (Sue) all of Hot Springs and her daughter-in-law, Sherry Burnett of Malvern, fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday from 11AM until Noon at Regency Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at Noon in the Regency Chapel with Brother Mark Thornton and Rev. Jason Keisler officiating.
Pallbearers: John, Brian, and Brandon Hughes, Leo Barios, TJ Burnett, Colton Keisler and Bradley Blackstock.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Keisler, and Daniel Caddy.
