Lois Hughes age 85, of the Oak Grove Community, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at Baptist-Hot Spring County in Malvern. She was born November 25, 1938 to Luther and Dorothy Stone. Lois was a member of the Prairie Bayou Church. She enjoyed sewing and quilt making. Lois was involved with 4H club teaching students to sew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Deborah L. Jacobs; a granddaughter, Kristina Williams and one brother, Harold Wayne Stone.

Survivors are husband David Hughes, two sons, Larry (Lily) Porterfield of Clinton, Arkansas and Kyle (Janie) Porterfield of Oak Grove; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 10:00 AM Friday, December 29th at Prairie Bayou Church near Bismarck.

Services will follow at 11:00 AM with Kelly Thomas officiating. The burial will be in Prairie Bayou Cemetery.
