Obituary

Loretta J. Galloway Hughes, age 92, entered Heaven and was welcomed by her Heavenly Father and her husband of 70 years, Pete. She loved her family, friends, church family, and attending church every chance she got, at North Malvern Assembly of God where she was a longtime member. She was an avid seamstress for her family and many others. She loved working outside with her flowers, cooking, and game nights with friends and great grandchildren.

Loretta was born December 30, 1931, to William P. and Etta Galloway. She was the fourth of six siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond "Pete" Hughes, her parents, and five siblings, William P. Galloway, Jr., Dovia Walters, Lillian Fitzhugh, Bobbie Hoover, and Patsy Bailey.

She married the love of her life, Pete, on December 1, 1950. They were married a few months short of their 70th anniversary before Pete left this world for his Heavenly home. During their time together they made many wonderful memories traveling, making friends, camping and boating.

To Loretta family was everything. They were blessed with the adoption of two children who became their very own. She is survived by her daughter, Kim Shipp and husband Mark., son Britt Hughes and wife Sissy. She is also survived by grandsons Matt Hughes and wife Brandi, Brad Landreth, Marcus Shipp, and Robert Shipp. Great grandchildren are Caleb, Daniel, and Eli Landreth, Christian Shipp, and Chloe and Emma Hughes, numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends she loved very dearly.
