Marie Albey
Diffee
May 13, 1933 — Apr 25, 2026
Malvern
Louise Marie Albey Diffee, age 92, better known as Marie, Mom, or Granny, was born May 13, 1933, and entered the glories of Heaven on April 25, 2026.
Marie loved her family deeply and devoted her life to them. She married her first husband, Loren Albey, before graduating high school, and together they shared nearly 55 years of marriage. Their life was simple but full, and they were blessed with three children: Ron, Mary Lou, and Mark. In the early years, she helped support her family working at the textile mill while also keeping a home running smoothly as her husband worked the opposite shift at the textile mill, or as he was helping manage West Department Store in Nashville or Reynolds Metals in Bauxite. Work took them to Nashville-Arkansas, Perth- Australia and Corpus Christi, Texas before moving back home. They made and cherished many friends along the way.
She was a woman of remarkable capability and quiet strength—someone who could do just about anything. She made clothes on her sewing machine at home, patched torn jeans, and ensured her children were cared for in every way. In the kitchen, she was unmatched. Her chicken and dressing anchored every Thanksgiving well into her late 80s, her pecan pies were legendary, and her purple hull peas were amazing.
After the passing of her first husband, Marie found love again with Dale Diffee, a Methodist minister. Their marriage brought together two families, and they shared years filled with laughter, faith, and companionship before his passing.
Marie was preceded in death by her husbands, Loren Albey and Dale Diffee; her parents, Clayton and Zelma Bailey; her sisters, Joyce Bailey and Helen Albey; her brother, Dean Bailey; her son-in-law, Michael Jeffries; and her granddaughter, Day Michelle Albey.
She is survived by her children, Ron (Sherry) Albey, Mary Lou Jeffries, and Mark (Kellye) Albey; her grandchildren, Brian Albey, Clay Helm, Justin Cluck, Mary (Christian) Wallace, Lauren (Brian) Vavra, Lawson (Shay) Albey, and Lane Ross (Alyson) Albey; and twelve great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. Dale's children, Gary, Bryan, Karen, and Lesa, and their children also held a special place in her heart.
Funeral services, under the direction of Rev. Bryan Diffee along with Lawson Albey, will be Wednesday May 6th at 2:00 pm with a visitation prior at 1:30 at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern. Pallbearers will be Clay Helm, Brian Vavra, Lawson Albey, Lane Ross Albey, Alan Bailey, Bobby Bailey and Christian Wallace. Honorary pallbearers are Drs. Bruce Burton and Ray Bollen.
Marie will be remembered for her resilience, her devotion to family, and the love she showed through the life she built and the kindness she shared. Her legacy lives on in the generations she raised and the family she held together.
