Marie (Wilson) Schoggin of Poyen – most affectionally known as Mom and Gram and to her closest friends as 'L.C." passed into Heaven on Sunday September 4, 2022 at Encore Healthcare.

She was born February 17, 1943, in the Brush Creek Community the daughter of the late Webster and Mae (Robinson) Wilson. Marie married A.C. 'Red" Schoggin on November 26, 1960, and remained married until he passed away on June 24, 1987

After rearing her children, Marie went to work as a CNA at Malvern Nursing Home and in her mid 40's returned to nursing school to obtain her LPN license and later retired from Malvern Nursing Home after 25 years of service, where she was an LPN and was in charge of medical records.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, brother James Wilson, and sisters, Jeanette Barnes and Melba Faye Roller.

Marie is survived by:  Children, Nolan (Tena) Schoggin of Poyen, Becky Schoggin of Benton, Julie (John) Myrick of Bryant and her niece Donna (Charles) Elleven of Wesley Chapel, FL, who was like a sister to her. Marie dotted on her grandchildren, and they were the light of her life.  She shared many very special traditions with each of them and could be found on the sidelines cheering them on during their sports years.  Left to cherish her memory are Randi, Erin (Justin), Chase, Neal (Cathrine), Dalton (Chloe) and Erica (Kyle).

Gram started then asking for great-grandchildren and got her wish when her first three were born within a 9-month time frame.  It became the running joke that she didn't want to see the adults anymore, it was all about 'her babies' She spoiled them and while the years weren't long enough, McKinna, Barrett, Cathryn, Ian, Jax, Zane, Tristen, Addelyn and Lucy will have the best guardian angel.

She also leaves behind a host of relatives and friends

Mom/Gram requested that no service be held upon her death and that if we had to do something it was to be done at someone's house with no big production.  We will have an informal celebration of life on Wednesday evening September 7, from 6-8pm at Nolan and Tena's house – 2407 Hwy 229 South in Poyen. Please drop by and share a special memory with us.  Her body will be cremated, and a private family ceremony will be held at a later date to place her ashes beside her husband at Lindsey-Poyen Cemetery.
