Marlin Dee McClard, 88, of New DeRoche, AR passed from this life on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Marlin was born on November 5, 1934 to the late Cecil and Ethel Wilson McClard. He married Rutha Mae Hughes on June 25, 1954 and spent 68 years together. After retiring from Hot Spring County Road Department, Marlin spent his days farming. His favorite times were spent in the mountains, hunting deer, turkey, squirrel, and scouting wildlife. He was a member of Jack Mountain Hunting Club. Marlin attended Prairie Bayou Church of Christ. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Clifford McClard: sisters, Bonnie Morris Hixon, Leva Dene Hardage and Faye Gilliam; daughter, Brenda McClard Prather and grandson, Dusty McClard.

Survivors include his wife, Rutha Mae McClard of New DeRoche; sons, David McClard (Cristy) and Mark McClard (Jennifer) of New DeRoche; daughter-in-law, Paula Cook (Daniel) of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Chase McClard, Will Williams, and Tiffany Whitley (Neil); five great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Services will be Saturday, December 17 at 2:30pm at Prairie Bayou Church of Christ with Elder Kelly Thomas officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Prairie Bayou Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bruce Thornton, Tyler Thornton, Charlie Morris, Tony Hughes, Jerry Hughes and Evan Hughes.  Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Jack Mountain Hunting Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prairie Bayou Outreach.
