Martha Dean Lee Grissom, age 92, made her glorious entry into Heaven on Monday, April 11, 2022. She and her twin sister were born in Camden, AR on July 15, 1929, to William E. and Lena Brady Lee. Martha graduated from Camden High School in 1947. She was a majorette and played marimba in the famous Camden High School band.  She married the love of her life, Elvis Grissom, on October 18, 1947 and they celebrated 70+ years of marriage until his death on June 14, 2018. The couple made their home in Malvern and owned Grissom Body Shop for over 35 years where she was the bookkeeper. Raising three children, she was very active in PTA, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was an active member of the Malvern Band Boosters for 25 years. Martha was a member of Malvern First Baptist Church, the Ruth Sunday School Class, sanctuary choir, and the Silver Bells ladies ensemble. She belonged to the Gideons Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of Eastern Star. She was an avid bowler, competing in the National Women's Tournament in 1963. She also loved water sports and camping with her family. An accomplished seamstress and quilt maker, she made most of her family's clothes, including her daughter's wedding dress. Martha loved bells and lighthouses, having an extensive collection of both. In retirement Martha and Elvis traveled to 48 states, visiting the National Parks and other points of interest. They went up and down the East Coast, photographing hundreds of lighthouses along the way. Her greatest love and highest priority was her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Sarah Lee Pruitt, her brother Elmer Lee, her husband Elvis Grissom, and two great grandsons Blake Ray and Matthew Miller.

She is survived by two sons, Ed Grissom (Kathy) of Texarkana, TX and Bill Grissom (Ida) of Youngsville, LA; one daughter, Linda Grissom Scrimshire of Malvern, AR; 11 grandchildren, Chance Linder (Liz) of Malvern, AR, Caroline Linder of Malvern, AR, Sarah Ray (Donald) of Rockwall, TX, Jamie Pounders (Philip) of Little Rock AR, Aimee Scrimshire of Fayetteville AR, JimBo Scrimshire (Mary) of Benton, AR, Jessica Grissom (Robert Beasley) of Texarkana TX, Jenna Blue (Matt) of Texarkana TX, Emilee Engelhardt (Conner) of Knoxville, TN, Kristin Broussard (Taylor) of Alexandria, LA, and Erin Powell (Mark) of Fayetteville, AR; 19 great grandchildren, Austin, Mallory, and Macy Ray, Makayla and Christopher Miller, Jaison DeLamar, Kenneth Cox and Kaydin Linder, Blake, Trey, and Leo Scrimshire, Maeve and Tate Pounders, Trenton and Addie Blue, Colt, Annalee, Charlotte, and Evangeline Engelhardt; two great-great grandchildren Luke and Parker Thompson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Vanessa Huell and Rochelle Crosby for their love and care, and making it possible for our mother to remain in her home. The family also thanks Dr. Bollen, his nurses and staff, for their remarkable care and Elite Home Hospice for making our mother comfortable and so well cared for.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 15 at 11:00am at Regency Funeral Home with Brother Billy Bartlett officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.  Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Williams, Ozzie Smith, Sr., Dennis Hathcock and William Collins.
